Warwick Valley Rotary Club to present Flags for Heroes 2017
WARWICK — Everyone in the community can be part of a tribute to the heroes in our lives, past and present.
It could be a member of the military, police, fire or other first responders who put their lives on the line for us every day.
It could also be a teacher, coach, mentor, community leader or anyone else who has been a hero in your life.
The Warwick Valley Rotary Club is supporting a new tribute/fund raiser to reach this goal.
It's called Flags for Heroes.
With a tax-deductible donation of $50 you can honor your personal hero by sponsoring a three-foot by five-foot American flag.
Each flag representing a hero in your life will be displayed for several weeks, Sunday, Nov. 5, to Saturday, Nov. 18, in the large field on the corner of County Route 1 and Route 94 by Chateau Hathorn.
Warwick Valley Rotary would like to create a spectacular sea of flags this November and, thanks to the generosity of Allied Excavating, the flags will be illuminated at night.
But it needs to sell as many flags as possible before the Oct. 13 deadline.
Flyers with forms to fill out are available at Leo Kaytes Ford and many local Rotarian businesses, mostly within the Village of Warwick.
The application and donation can also be made online by going to: https://squareup.com/store/warwick-valley-rotary-foundation-inc
