Warwick Valley Humane Society plans series of events

WARWICK — The Warwick Valley Humane Society will be hosting a series of fund raisers and programs in the coming months, according to the schedule announced by Humane Society president Suzyn Barron:

July 29: Friends of the Warwick Valley Humane Society will be selling bottled water at the Warwick Farmers Market to help raise funds for its newly established organization affiliated with the Warwick Valley Humane Society. For more about the Friends of Warwick Valley Humane Society, visit www.alwaysforanimals.org. Aug. 12: Rabies clinic, from 10 a.m. to noon. All pets $15 each; cash only. Aug. 18: TARA spay/neuter clinic for cats only at the Chase parking lot off South Main Street. Registration and payment ($60 cash only) required prior to event. Forms are available at Humane Society offices every day from noon to 4 p.m. Call 845-986-2473 . Aug. 18: Candlelight vigil will be held that evening at Railroad Green 9 p.m. to help raise awareness of International Homeless Animals Day. No open flames; battery-powered candles will be provided. Pets on leashes are welcome. Oct. 20: The Humane Society will hold its first annual 5K run 4Paws at 9 a.m. followed by a 1K walk.
