Warwick Valley High School junior to sing at Carnegie Hall

WARWICK — Danielle Puleo, a junior at Warwick Valley High School, will perform at Carnegie Hall as part of the National Sacred Honors Choir sponsored by Houghton College on Sunday, March 9.
The National Sacred Honor Choir is composed of hundreds of musicians from six countries and across the U.S. These performers represent both professional and collegiate choirs and will be perform with a professional New York symphony orchestra and feature the work of Houghton College faculty, students and distinguished alumni.
“There is no more venerated hall in the world than Carnegie, it is both an honor and a sacred trust,” is how Dr. Stephen Plate, dean and director of the Greatbatch School of Music at Houghton College, described the experience of performing on this venerable stage.
Area All State meeting
The performance will be led by Maestro Brandon Johnson, director of choral activities at the Greatbatch School of Music at Houghton.
Danielle, a member of Warwick Valley High School's elite choir, Meistersingers, was invited by Johnson to join the National Sacred Honors Choir during her participation in Area All State.
Selections of music to be featured will include Mozart Requiem, Beethoven Piano Fantasy Op. 80 and a new commission by Houghton College composer David Davies, Cantate Domino.

The performance will be in the historic Stern Auditorium located at 881 7th Ave. in New York City.
Tickets for the 2 p.m. performance are $25 general admission and $15 seniors students and can be purchased through the Carnegie Hall box office or by visiting www.carnegiehall.org
A reception will be held immediately following the concert at 4 p.m. An RSVP for the reception is not necessary.
