WARWICK — This fall, the Warwick Valley High School Drama Club brings back the “Literature to Stage Series” with a live, onstage adaptation of C.S. Lewis’s classic novel, "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe."
Many of the wonderful characters from the beloved story are present in this production, including Aslan, the White Witch, Mr. and Mrs. Beaver, Mr. Tumnus, and the four children who enter the wondrous and magical wardrobe.
"The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" will be presented on Friday, Nov. 2 and Saturday, Nov. 3.
This production is certain to be a great night of theater for the entire family.
In spring, the Drama Club will debut the mega-hit Broadway musical "Mamma Mia!"
This sunny and funny tale, featuring the songs of supergroup ABBA, tells the hilarious story of a young woman's search for her birth father.
On the eve of her wedding, the daughter's quest to discover the identity of her father brings three men from her mother's past back to the island they last visited twenty years ago.
The storytelling magic of ABBA's timeless tunes propels this enchanting tale of love, laughter and friendship, creating an unforgettable show.
"Mamma Mia!" will be performed on March 15 and 16, 2019.
Both productions will be directed by Nick DiLeo, who is celebrating his 20th anniversary as the club’s advisor. Joining him will be Donna Nestor as producer, Beth Maisonet as choreographer and Chris Persad and Noreen Hanson as musical directors.
Further information regarding these two productions will be made available on the WVCSD website, including ticket information, as the productions near.
