Warwick Valley Gardeners ready for this Saturdays plant sale
PINE ISLAND The Warwick Valley Gardeners are ready for their annual plant sale that will be held on June 2, rain or shine, at the Pavilion at the Pine Island Park on Kay Road.
There will be a large number of member and commercially grown plants at great prices, as well as craft activities for the children.
The Pine Island Chamber of Commerce will offer a free Black Dirt dessert to the first 100 customers.
At 11 a.m. , the Kids Club House will be planting at tree adjacent to the gardeners award-winning butterfly garden in celebration of its 20th anniversary.
There also will be a butterfly photo cut out so you can have your picture taken as a butterfly, as well as information about creating a personal butterfly habitat. There is ample parking and a play area for the children.
This is the first of three fund-raising events by the gardeners. The others are the Countryside Garden Tour, which will take place on July 14, and the annual Barn Sale, which will be held Sept. 29 and 30.
The money from these events funds the planting of nine gardens in the village and town as well as the groups Garden Therapy Program, Arbor Day and the Holiday Project at Railroad Green Park.
