WARWICK — The 18th season of the Warwick Valley Farmers’ Market is opening a week earlier on Mother’s Day, May 13.

As the second oldest farmers’ market in Orange County, it has grown significantly in size, offering a wide selection of fresh local and regional goods.

This season boasts 39 vendors at the height of season, which includes five new vendors: Apple Ridge Farm (bread), Cactus Pete Beef Jerky, Conscious Fork (vegetable juices), Peg’s Eggs (chicken and eggs) and Roaming Acres Farm (ostrich and bison).

On this coming Sunday, the Gravikord Duo will provide live entertainment. Chef and nutritionist duo Shawn and Laura Hubbell of Amuzae Synergy Nutrition will demonstrate how to prepare meals from market ingredients.

Tickets for next week’s Duck Derby - Winslow’s annual fund raiser - also will be available.

The Warwick Valley Farmers’ Market is open Sundays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., rain or shine, in the South Street Lot from May 13 until Nov. 18.
