— Loretta Breedveld, owner of the Warwick Valley Bed and Breakfast, is celebrating an important milestone.

On Sunday, Nov. 4, Breedveld will host a reception at her popular B&B to celebrate her 15 years in business. The event, which is open to the public, runs from 2 to 6 p.m.

Guests will have an opportunity to enjoy a complimentary glass of local wine or hard cider while sampling hors d'oeuvres and listening or dancing to live music on the beautiful grounds, tented with tables and heaters, or inside the circa 1900 Colonial Revival home, which is located at 24 Maple Avenue in Warwick.

The array of appetizers from local restaurants and caterers will be served throughout the afternoon. Entertainment will include musical performances by singer/songwriter and keyboardist Gayle Donnelly playing Eclectic Soul-Pop; Run DMG, soft rock featuring Matthew Scherdin, Dr. Dean Scher and Gerry Baer and Strings Attached, "Orange County's newest Acoustic Rock Trio" featuring Jeanie Cassels, John Desibia and Alli Fox.

Tickets are $25 per person and proceeds from the event will benefit Safe Homes of Orange County, assisting in the organization's effort to eradicate domestic violence.

Safe Homes of Orange County is a private, not-for-profit agency established in 1986 to provide comprehensive and confidential domestic violence services to victims and their families.

"Every home should be a safe home," said Breedveld, "which is why I want to open my home to help others."

Breedveld, who has lived in Warwick since childhood, purchased the Warwick Valley Bed and Breakfast in 1997. At that time she was a Realtor and had shown the home to prospective buyers.

"I fell in love with the architecture," said Breedveld, "and after nine months on the market and two deals falling through, I asked Edith Walter, the owner, for her bottom line. And the rest is history."

Breedveld, who loves everything about Warwick where she raised her two children, Joshua, 19 and Nina, 18, enjoys being an innkeeper.

"I am truly blessed," she said. "My job is so rewarding because I enjoy people and making them happy. I love to cook, garden and, believe it or not, scrape paint."

Tickets to the Sunday, Nov. 4 reception at the Warwick Valley Bed and Breakfast can be ordered online at www.wvbedandbreakfast.com, Event Tickets, or by calling 845-987-7255. A limited number of tickets will be available at the door.
