Warwick Town Democratic Committee holds annual dinner June 9 WARWICK. State Sen. Jen Metzger will be the keynote speaker.

The Warwick Town Democratic Committee is pleased to announce that state Sen. Jen Metzger will be the keynote speaker at its 2019 annual dinner on Sunday, June 9.
Metzger was elected in 2018 to represent the 42nd District with the support of Warwick Democrats and many local, county and regional environmental, political and social justice groups.
Metzger serves as Chair of the Agriculture Committee and sits on the Environmental Conservation, Education, Health, Energy and Telecommunications, Local Government, Women’s Issues, Domestic Animal Welfare, and Legislative Commission on Rural Resources Committees.
"Her insightful observations about the needs and opportunities for our region and the legislative process to support them will be informative, inspiring and entertaining," committee officials said in the press release announcing the event.
Two special awards will be given at the dinner as well:
• The 2019 Jan Howe Community Service award, named to honor the late former chairperson of the Warwick Democratic Committee, is being given to Indivisible Hudson Valley.
• Lauren Vitkovsky will be honored with the 2019 Jerry Sommer Distinguished Service Award.
The Warwick Town Democratic Committee Annual Dinner will be held at the Warwick Inn at 36 Oakland Ave., Warwick, on Sunday, June 9, from 5 to 8 p.m.
