Here’s the monthly report on the Warwick Friendly Visitor Program by the coordinator of the Friendly Visitor Program, Lisa Bacenet:

The Warwick Senior Picnic was a great success, the weather was picnic perfect and we had great attendance. The Warwick Friendly Visitor Program had a table where we were joined with our partners from Jewish Family Services (and across the walk way from Office for the Aging). We were able to meet many of our amazing volunteers and neighbors as well as prospective members. It was great to see so many smiling faces and eat some delicious (and locally sourced) roasted chicken, corn and pastries.

We loved getting to be out in the public for the first time in almost two years. This was my first opportunity to attend the Senior Picnic and was grateful to be able to share the day with my 12-year-old daughter Lianna who helped us pass out information to the attendees.

Last month, the Warwick Friendly Visitor Program received 161 calls and provided 144 services for the neighbors in the program.

If you or someone you know would like to become a volunteer, virtual training will be held via Zoom on Tuesday, Oct. 12, at 6 p.m. and Monday, Oct. 18, at 10 a.m.
