Warwick Supervisor Michael Sweeton named Orange County Partnership's Most Valuable Partner

On Tuesday, June 4, Town of Warwick Supervisor Michael Sweeton was named the Orange County Partnership's Most Valuable Partner (MVP) for 2019.
The Orange County Partnership serves as a resource for development opportunities in Orange County.
The annual award honors an individual or organization that has gone above and beyond the call of duty to improve the economic strength and diversity of the County.
This year's MVP award was presented at Orange County Partnership's 2019 Most Valuable Partner Breakfast held at the West Hills Country Club in Middletown.
There were 330 guests in attendance and they included local business men and women, town supervisors and legislators.
"It was a wonderful celebration," said Orange County Partnership Executive Administrator Meagan Matthews. "It is hard to find an individual more deserving than Michael Sweeton who has undoubtedly made the Town of Warwick a better place to live, work and play."
Sweeton also served as the keynote speaker for the event.
"I am truly honored," he said, "to be recognized by the Orange county Partnership for our efforts to improve economic opportunities in the Town and especially for the work to repurpose the former Mid Orange Correctional facility.
"While I am receiving this award I do so with the knowledge that it has been a real team effort starting with my fellow Town Board members, the volunteer businessmen and women of the Warwick Valley Local Development Corporation as well as guidance from the original Warwick Citizens Prison Advisory Committee," Sweeton added. "I have also been fortunate to have enjoyed the support of both the Orange County Partnership, the Orange County Industrial Development Agency and Empire State Development."
