Warwick’s Senior Center will benefit from almost $2,000 in excess funds donated over several years by some 30 community organizations and businesses for the annual Senior Barbecue and Picnic held each August at the Town Park. The Warwick Valley Rotary Club serves as the lead service club in putting on the picnic with the Town of Warwick, collecting money from local groups and paying the bills. Warwick Town Supervisor Michael Sweeton, a Rotarian who coordinates the Warwick Senior Picnic, accepts a check for $1,887 from Warwick Rotary President John Buckley. Volunteers will serve about 750 seniors hotdogs, soft drinks, a chicken dinner and desserts during the 24th annual Senior Barbecue to be held on Tuesday, Aug. 27.
