PINE ISLAND — The Warwick School of Music will host a fund raiser this Saturday, June 9, to raise money to help children with cancer.

Six student bands will perform at the Polish Legion of American Veterans Hall on Legion Road, just off County Route 6, in Pine Island, from 4 to 7 p.m.

A donated performance will follow by “Last Minute,” a classic rock band, from 7 to 10 .p.m. The lead vocalist is Mike Rogers, one of the owners of Warwick School of Music. The lead guitarist Chris Mulcare is a resident of Westtown.

The donation is $10 for adults and $5 for children under 10. There also will be food, drinks and a 50/50 raffle.

This is not the first time the students have performed to help others. In December 2011 they performed at The Warwick Community Center, collected toys for “Toys For Tots” program and raised funds for the community center.

The Valerie Fund at Morristown Memorial Hospital was chosen because Sandy Paine, the other owner of the music school is a nurse at the hospital. She works as a holistic nurse at the Valerie Center, the children’s cancer unit.
