Warwick Rotarians to host spring golf outing April 27

WARWICK — Despite recent brisk temperatures, Warwick Rotarians are visualizing area residents returning to the fairways and greens with their golf clubs.

The Warwick Valley Rotary Club will kick off the local 2015 spring golf tournament season when it hosts its 22nd annual golf outing on Monday, April 27, at Wild Turkey Golf Club at the Crystal Springs Resort in Hamburg, N.J.

Event Chairman Wayne Patterson emphasized that funds raised by the Rotary golf outing will be used by the Warwick service club to sponsor local community projects and organizations, including the American Cancer Society, Warwick Senior Citizens Center, Hospice, Winslow Therapeutic Riding Center. Warwick Valley Community Center, Backpack Snack Attack, local food pantries and Meals on Wheels, college scholarships and many more.

Registration for the golf outing is now underway. The entry fee is $125 per golfer, which includes dinner. A dinner-only fee of $35 per person is also available with a cash bar. Events will begin with registration and a continental breakfast at 8 a.m. followed by a shot gun start at 9. The format will be scramble, best ball. A buffet dinner will be held at approximately 3:30 p.m.

Two hole-in-one prizesTwo major hole-in-one prizes will be available this year. Leo Kaytes Ford again will sponsor a hole-in-one contest with a new Ford going to anyone acing the designated hole. In addition, Warwick Resource Group is offering $10,000 for a designated hole-in-one.

There will be door prizes and awards for winning team scores, longest drives and nearest to the pin.

“This will probably be the first golf outing of the 2015 season for many, so dust off those golf clubs and join us for this exciting tournament,” Patterson said.

Tee and green sponsorships are available for $100, as well as gift donations. Names of sponsoring businesses will be posted throughout the 18-hole golf course on a tee and/or green of their choice. A Gold sponsorship of $600 will provide a golf foursome, a golf cart sponsorship plus one green and one sand trap “sign” sponsorship along with dinner.
