Warwick Rotarians to host golf outing April 28 at Great Gorge

WARWICK — The Warwick Valley Rotary Club will kick off the spring golf tournament season when it hosts its 21st annual golf outing on Monday, April 28, at Great Gorge Country Club in McAfee, N.J.
“This will probably be the first golf outing of the 2014 season for many," event chair Wayne Patterson said, "so dust off those golf clubs and join us for this exciting tournament.”
Registration for the golf tournament is underway. The entry fee is $125 per golfer which includes dinner. A dinner-only fee of $35 per person is also available with a cash bar.
Events will begin with registration and a continental breakfast at 8 a.m. followed by a shot gun start at 9:30. A buffet dinner will be held at approximately 3:30 p.m.
Prizes
Leo Kaytes Ford again will sponsor a hole-in-one contest with a new Ford going to anyone acing the designated hole.
In addition, Warwick Resource Group of Warwick is sponsoring a $10,000 hole-in-one prize.
There will be door prizes and awards for winning team scores, longest drives and nearest to the pin.
How the funds will be used
Patterson emphasized that funds raised by the Rotary golf outing will be used by the Warwick service club to sponsor local community projects and organizations, including the Backpack Snack Attack, senior citizens center, Hospice, Winslow Therapeutic, Warwick Valley Community Center, Garden of the Child, SADD, Literacy Volunteers, Warwick, Greenwood Lake and Florida Food Pantries, Inspire-Cerebral Palsy Center, college scholarships and numerous other not-for-profit organizations.
The event chairman wants all local businesses to be aware that tee and green sponsorships are available for $100, as well as gift donations. Names of sponsoring businesses will be posted throughout the 18-hole golf course on a tee and/or green of their choice.
A Gold sponsorship of $600 will provide a golf foursome, a cart/green/sand trap “sign” sponsorship along with dinner.
“Please remember you can enjoy a wonderful day of golfing, networking and camaraderie, and more importantly help sponsor worthwhile local community projects,” Patterson added.
