WARWICK — Increasing literacy in the area is the goal of Christine Rolando, a Warwick resident and executive director of Literacy Orange.

The ability to read and write is also a major priority of Rotary International, which designates March as “Literacy Month.”

Rolando spoke to Warwick Valley Rotarians on March 13 at the Landmark Inn. She said Literacy Orange is seeking additional persons to be trained as volunteers. Those interested can contact her at 341-5460.

A fund raiser, Click Literacy for Fashion Show, is planned May 24 at Catlin Gardens in Slate Hill. Proceeds from the event will benefit Literacy Orange, Alison Klepper Scholarship Fund and the Rotary Reads Project.

For sponsor and ticket information, call 845-494-6257 or visit www.literacyorangeny.org.

The Warwick Rotary also donated $500 to Literacy Orange.
