Warwick Rotarians assist those who hunger

Michael Otte, right, pastor of the Warwick Reformed Church and president of the Warwick Ecumenical Council, accepts two $750 checks from Warwick Valley Rotary President John Buckley to assist community members in need. One checks is for Meals on Wheels. Volunteers deliver approximately 60 meals a day in Warwick to seniors and others who have difficulty cooking for themselves. The other $750 check is for the Ecumenical Ministry’s Emergency Fund for one-time emergency needs. That program is administered by the Rev. Michael McLoughlin of the St. Stephen Roman Catholic Church in Warwick. Rotarians are local community business and professional leaders whose motto is “Service Above Self.” They meet each Wednesday noon at the Landmark Inn.
