Warwick Rotarians assist Meals on Wheels

Warwick’s Meals on Wheels program has been serving the local community for 43 years and Warwick Valley Rotarians have been supporting the program for most of that time. The tradition continued April 25 when Jane Gareiss, chair of Warwick Meals on Wheels, accepted a $1,000 donation from Rotary President Dave Eaton. Approximately 125 Warwick Meals on Wheels volunteers deliver more than 15,000 prepared meals annually to local seniors and other needy persons. When the program was started in 1975, clients were charged $2 per meal. Today, the charge is only slightly higher, with the cost being kept low due to donations from local citizens and organizations.
