Warwick Police Department invites public to "Coffee with a Cop" at Henry's Deli on March 3

WARWICK — The Warwick Police Department invites the public to the first "Coffee with a Cop" of this year and the seventh to date.
"Coffee with a Cop," was designed to be an opportunity for police and local citizens to get together in an informal setting to discuss community issues.
On Saturday, March 3, another "Coffee with a Cop" event will be held from 10 a.m. to noon at Henry's Deli and Café, 583 Seward Highway, Route 94 North between the Villages of Warwick and Florida.
The popular delicatessen and café is owned and managed by Karen and Phil McKenna.
"We are pleased to sponsor this event," said Karen McKenna. "We love living in Warwick and we are happy to support our fine police department in anyway we can."
This seventh time event for Warwick had its beginnings in California and then spread across the nation. And the relationship between the police and the communities they serve is especially significant at this time.
On a national level, the mission of "Coffee with a Cop" is to break down the barriers between police officers and the citizens they serve.
Taking time to meet at neutral locations provides the opportunity for real conversations about issues that matter.
Community residents can sit down with officers and ask questions or share what's on their mind. And in a short time, citizens and police officers get to know each other and discover mutual goals for the communities they live in and serve.
The March 3 Coffee with a Cop event at Henry's Deli and Cafe promises to include no agenda or speeches. It is simply designed as an opportunity to ask questions, voice concerns and get to know the officers in your neighborhood.
And everyone is invited.
