WARWICK — They parked cars at Applefest and then on Saturday, Oct. 20, collected contributions from drivers traveling along Oakland Avenue in the Village of Warwick.
At the end of the day, members of the Warwick Council 4952 of the Knights of Columbus estimated that they had collected about $1,500 for the victims of hurricanes Michael and Florence in the States of Florida and South Carolina.
One hundred percent of the money would first be sent to the Knights of Columbus Supreme Council in New Haven, Connecticut, as a national effort, which would then be distributed by individual councils in those areas that received the most damage from the storms.
