Warwick Historical Society will host Memorial Day 'Remembrances' program on May 24

WARWICK — The Warwick Historical Society will present the third annual "Remembrances," a reading of short stories about veterans by Tom Brennan, on Thursday, May 24, at 7 p.m. at the Old School Baptist Meeting House.
Brennan grew up on the south shore of Long Island in Suffolk County and graduated from The College of William and Mary in Virginia in 1964. He enlisted in the Navy, served his first tour on the only surface ship that test-fired the Polaris missile, and then spent 1967 as a watch officer with a new command in Vietnam's Mekong Delta.
An active member of the Warwick community, Brennan serves as a member of the Warwick Historical Society, New Milford/Edenville United Methodist Church and American Legion Post 214.
The father of two daughters, Brennan is also president of the New Milford Historical Society.
He will be serving as the grand marshal for this year's Memorial Day Parade.
Brennan has a lifelong interest in military service, his father was a World War II veteran of the Pacific. He will be sharing a number of short one page stories he has written about veterans with an emphasis on the meaning and never ending relevance of Memorial Day.
Lectures are a benefit of Historical Society membership; there is a suggested donation of $5 for non-members.
