Warwick Historical Society Thanksgiving Plaque on permanent display at A.W. Buckbee Center

WARWICK — Last November the Historical Society of the Town of Warwick hosted "An Evening of Thanksgiving" at the A.W. Buckbee Center 2 Colonial Ave.
The event, featuring wine and hors d'oeuvres and attended by approximately 85 guests, was sponsored by Warwick Valley Financial Advisors.
The informal gathering was an opportunity to share and thank members for their many contributions.
During the evening a bronze plaque, honoring the society's donors, was unveiled. And that Thanksgiving plaque, which will be updated from time to time with the names of new donors, is now on permanent display in the entrance way of the A.W. Buckbee Center.
The donors named on the plaque include foundations, corporations and individuals who have made contributions ranging from $5,000 to $250,000.
The mission of the Historical Society is to preserve and celebrate the history of the Town of Warwick and its people, and engage the communities through a variety of programs aimed at developing an understanding and appreciation of Warwick's unique historic heritage.
The Society is responsible for the preservation of 10 historical buildings plus Lewis Park and the Colonial and Revolutionary era cemetery on Galloway Road adjacent to St. Stephen's Cemetery.
"We would like to thank our donors and we urge everyone in the community to help support our Society," said Michael Bertolini, president of the board and curator of the Historical Society. "The commitment we have made to the community can be achieved, but to continue moving forward, we need your generous donations now more than ever."
Kenneth Ford, president of Warwick Valley Financial, added: "As sponsors of the Evening of Thanksgiving, I would like to say that we were grateful for the opportunity to be affiliated with such a great cause."
