Warwick Historical Society offering a cure for cabin fever on Feb. 17

WARWICK — Need a cure for Cabin Fever?
Bring the family out to the Warwick Historical Society’s Revolutionary Winter Walk on Saturday, Feb. 17, at 11 a.m. at Sanfordville Elementary School.
This one-hour walk will focus on historic events that took place on the grounds of the school, which is the former farm of the DeKay family and is known to be an encampment site for George Washington’s Continental Army during the Revolutionary War.
Participants will visit a Revolutionary War cemetery on the school grounds and do a landscape interpretation to understand the strategic value of the site in the past.
After the walk, those who would like can meet up at Penning’s Farm Market just down the road to talk about what they learned over a hot chocolate or other refreshing beverage.
There is no cost for the outing and post-walk refreshments are not included. This is a moderate walk and is appropriate for all ages.
This is winter walk; please wear appropriate footwear and apparel. Heavy coats, gloves, and hats are strongly recommended.

Sanfordville Elementary School is located at 144 Sanfordville Road in Warwick. Park in the school parking lot. Meet at the flagpole at the front of the property.
