On Saturday, June 15, a group of walkers gathered in the River Birch area outside the Albert Wisner Public Library at One McFarland Drive in the Village of Warwick.
They were there to kick off a Family Fun Walk, the first of events celebrating the 10th anniversary of the library's new facility.
Before the walk, Mayor Michael Newhard presented Library Director Rosemary Cooper with a certificate in honor of the anniversary.
The group then walked through the library's picturesque grounds and onto the new path along McFarland Drive, down through Memorial Park and return to the library grounds where they were awarded "Finisher" stickers and watermelon slices.
The coming weeks will feature more celebration events.
