— The Warwick Valley Chamber of Commerce held an after-hours business mixer at the Warwick Valley Country Club on Thursday, May 23.

“If it wasn’t for the fact that it was raining that night, we would have broken records,” said event chair Janine Dethmers. “We had 93 in attendance and the mixer was fantastic.”

In addition to enjoying complimentary wine, beer and hors d’oeuvres, members had an opportunity to exchange cards, expand business connections and mingle with other professionals in the Club’s picturesque setting.

“They rolled out the red carpet for us,” said Dethmers.

The Warwick Valley Country Club boasts a 9-hole golf course with 18 tee boxes, four lighted Hydro-Fed soft tennis courts, a pool, pro shop and clubhouse. The club provides a center for the entire family and hosts special events, weddings and other social affairs for members and the general public throughout the year.

Mixer attendees had a chance to check out club amenities first-hand and the country club was offering half price initiation fees.

“The reduced initiation fee special is a great opportunity for more families to join,” said Warwick Valley Country Club Marketing co-chair Chris Zimmerli. “It’s one of the best family values in the Hudson Valley.”

Founded in 1958, The Warwick Valley Country Club offers golf, swimming, tennis, dining, pro shop, year-round social activities, and a newly renovated clubhouse.

“We are especially excited to show off our newly renovated clubhouse,” Warwick Valley Country Club marketing co-chair Jonathan Gaspari added. “It is available to members as well as to the general public for special events, parties and weddings.”

Each year the Warwick Valley Chamber of Commerce hosts a series of networking and mixer events.

Networking events are held monthly and alternate from breakfast to lunch to dinner meetings held at local restaurants. Business owners, on a voluntary basis have an opportunity to talk about their business or service for a minute or two. The object is to build relationships, learn what each has to offer and exchange referrals and the like in a pleasant environment.

Business mixers or evening get-togethers, held during most months, are less structured social events where members can enjoy each other’s company, share ideas and generally “network” in an informal setting.

“Mixers, networking meetings, seminars and workshops are among the many benefits of membership in the chamber,” said Executive Director Michael Johndrow.
