WARWICK — The Warwick Valley Community Center will team up with the Energize Warwick campaign on Saturday, July 20, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., to present the Warwick Community Summer Fest with something for everyone.

The main event will be the exhibition and sale of 65 one-of-a-kind artist-created birdhouses.

“These are amazing works of art that birds can – and will – actually live in, and each has been created by a different local artist,” said WVCC event coordinator Patrick Gallagher.

The birdhouses will be sold through an auction with all proceeds going to support the activities of the community center.

In keeping with the Summer Fest theme, Gallagher’s legendary sausages and peppers will be available as long as they last.

Sharing the spotlight with the WVCC will be the Energize Warwick program, the Warwick version of EnergizeNY, the popular New York State program to provide incentives for homeowners to weatherize their homes.

Under the Energize Warwick program, homeowners wind up with tighter, more efficient and comfortable homes and they cut their utility bills dramatically, all with attractive finance packages.

Plus there’s a bonus for local homeowners: For everyone who goes through the program, Energize Warwick will donate $200 to any Warwick-area non-profit.

During the Summer Fest event, it will be possible for interested homeowners to learn about the program, apply on the spot and even get approved. All the Energize Warwick-approved home-energy contractors will also be there to answer questions and dramatically demonstrate exactly how the process works.

According to Geoff Howard, who is the head of Energize Warwick and co-coordinator of Summer Fest: “This is a terrific, one-stop-shop opportunity for homeowners to get something important done and have fun at the same time.”
