Warwick. Community Garden: 10 years and still growing

| 18 Feb 2020 | 01:23

The 2020 season of the Warwick Community Garden will kick-off with a pre-season meeting on Saturday, March 7, at the Warwick Valley Community Center at 10 a.m.

This meeting is for new people who want to find out about joining the Garden, as well as for those returning members who just want to gather with friends and plan out the coming season.

The Community Garden was started in 2010 under the auspices of Community2gether on a plot donated by the Community Center.

It is a true “community” garden where the members do the planning, planting, caring and harvesting as a group. There are no individual or family plots and the garden is organic.

The annual fee for individuals and families is $35.

The fruits and vegetables of these labors — there is also a Community Orchard with 40 trees — are shared among the members, with any excess going to the Warwick Ecumenical Food Pantry.

It’s a great way to eat well, feel good and meet your neighbors.
