Warwick Baccalaureate service to take place St. Stephen's Church on June 27

The annual Baccalaureate Ceremony, an inter-faith religious service, featuring song, prayers and well-wishes to the high school graduating class, and now sponsored by the Warwick Valley Clergy, will take place at The Church of St. Stephen, the First Martyr, on Thursday, June 27, at 7 p.m.
The event had been a popular longtime tradition and, until last year, enjoyed the full support of the Warwick Valley School District.
However, as a result of a complaint made by a local resident to Freedom from Religion, Inc., the district received a letter that it was in violation of the establishment clause and could no longer endorse or promote the event.
The baccalaureate, a celebration honoring the graduating high school senior class, is still a traditional part of the graduation.
Everyone is welcome to attend and no tickets are required.
