WARWICK — The Warwick Appalachian Trail Community will hosts its annual family hike on Saturday, Sept. 30, at 9:30 a.m.
This four-mile round trip hike begins at the AT kiosk at the top of Mt. Peter on Route 17A (opposite Bellvale Creamery) and leads to spectacular views overlooking Greenwood Lake.
Bring the kids, some water and a healthy snack and breathe in the fresh autumn air and enjoy the beauty of the Appalachian Trail.
The hike will be guided by Gene Giordano, Warwick AT Community leader, and Aura Lehrer, avid hiker and lover of nature.
When not at her studio Vastu, teaching yoga Lehrer is happily in the woods.
Giordano has been an active volunteer with the New York/New Jersey Trail Conference for more than 30 years and is a professional musician, performing and teaching in Warwick since 1970.
Meet at the Appalachian Trail Kiosk on Route 17A at 9:30 and allow four hours for the hike.
