For many residents the Warwick Fire Department carnival, normally scheduled for the last Wednesday through Saturday in June, is when summer really begins.
Sadly, as a result of restrictions during the coronavirus pandemic, this year’s popular event, which always ends with a spectacular fireworks display, has been canceled.
Employing a professional carnival dates back to 1988 and before that there were vendors.
The carnival company, Gillette Shows, has been used by the Warwick Fire Department since 1997.
