Warwick. Albert Wisner Library annual election rescheduled for mail-in vote

| 08 May 2020 | 04:31

The Albert Wisner Public Library’s annual election will be held on Tuesday, June 9, in conjunction with the Warwick Valley School District’s annual election.

The Library’s election of two trustees is on the ballot.

The Library’s Board of Trustees has decided not to increase the operating budget for fiscal 2020-2021. The tax levy amount will remain the same as fiscal year 2019–2020. Therefore, a vote on a tax levy increase is not required.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo has directed that these elections be done via the U.S. Mail using absentee ballots.

All residents of the Warwick Valley School District who are registered to vote will receive an absentee ballot in the mail and may participate in this election. If a person has previously registered to vote with the school district and has voted at an annual or special school district meeting within the last four calendar years, that person is eligible to vote at this election.

If an eligible voter is currently registered to vote with the Orange County Board of Elections, that person is eligible to vote at this election.

All other persons who wish to vote must register with the Orange County Board of Elections by mail or on line through the NYS Department of Motor Vehicles website at https://dmv.ny.gov/more-info/electronic/voter/registration-application.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the resulting closure of school buildings, and in an effort to maintain health and safety, the District Clerk will not conduct in-person registration of voters of at the School District office.
