Village Billiards celebrates grand opening

WARWICK - On Wednesday, May 7, Orange County Legislator Barry Cheney, Town of Warwick Supervisor Michael Sweeton, Mayor Michael Newhard and members of the Warwick Valley Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors joined owner Adam Powers and members of his staff for the official grand opening of Village Billiards.

The upscale pool hall and bar, which first opened last November, is located on the third floor of what used to be the Masonic Temple at 17 Main St.

Powers is the owner of Fetch Bar and Grill restaurant at 48 Main St. in Warwick and also another Fetch on Manhattan's Upper East Side.

Village Billiards' spacious facility features a huge bar, seven flat screen TVs including one that is 10 feet wide as well as a dart board along with four eight-foot pool tables, two seven-foot table and one-nine foot regulation size table.

There is also a private room, which houses the regulation pool table and is available for parties and corporate events.

"We provide fun, gaming and spirits all under one roof," said Powers. "Village Billiards is Orange County's best entertainment destination."

Although hot dogs are always available, patrons may also have full course diners delivered from any restaurant in the Village.

"I would like that to be Fetch," said Powers, "but whatever they choose is fine by me."

In addition to everyday pool playing, Village Billiards also hosts both American Poolplayers Association (APA) League Play and In-House Tournaments daily. Ongoing events that are currently being held are APA League Nights on Sunday and Monday evenings, "Tuesday Night Flights" Dart Tournaments on Tuesday evenings and a "King of the Hill" pool tournament on Wednesday evenings.

There is also an on premise pro shop.

Village Billiards is open every day except Christmas and Thanksgiving from noon to midnight.
