The VFW Warwick Valley Post 4662 held its annual dinner dance at the Raymond Hose Company at West Street in Warwick on Saturday, Nov. 9. Commander Gordon Cooke, left, presented awards to World War II veterans Clayton Eurich and Charlie Papaceno at the dinner. WW II veteran George Scott also received the award but not at the dinner. The award was for years of dedication and service to the VFW Post. Clayton served as a gunners mate on an LST (Landing Ship, Tank) in the South Pacific. Papaceno served in Panama as a radioman in the 15th Naval District Command Headquarters. Cooke, a West Point graduate, served in the Army Engineers with the 11th Calvary in Iraq.
