WARWICK — A press conference at the Warwick Town Hall was scheduled for Thursday, March 6, to announce that the Town of Warwick and the Warwick Valley Land Development Corporation had concluded the process to take ownership of the former Mid-Orange Correctional Facility.

Details of the conference will appear online and in the March 14 edition of The Warwick Advertiser.

Town of Warwick Superviser Michael Sweeton has issued the following statement:

" I am pleased and excited to announce that the Town and the WVLDC have concluded the process and taken ownership of the Mid-Orange Correctional facility. While this has been a long process it is one that will have long term economic benefits for the town and its citizens for many years to come. In addition to the 150 acres that will be developed for the Warwick Valley Technology and Corporate Park, creating tax revenues and jobs for our area, the town will receive close to 500 acres to be enjoyed as recreational lands in one of the most scenic locations in the valley."
