WARWICK — On their recent visit to Price Chopper, Warwick Troop 174 Brownies toured the supermarket’s floral, dairy, meat and fish, pastry and other departments.

Troop Leader Kerry Danaher said the store’s manager and staff provided the girls with a “fantastic experience.”

“They taught them about nutrition, sales, giving back to the community and all of the enjoyments of their jobs,” Danaher said. They also were shown how to read labels and how to be on the lookout for sales.

The Brownies also were able to shop for the food pantry. Using their own money, they were able to buy 30 items to donate. They also stayed under budget by 2 cents, their troop leader reported.

All of these experiences helped them to complete their “Money Manager” badge as well.
