Tree Talk: Let’s all have a great Arbor Day

| 20 Apr 2021 | 12:19

The Warwick Shade Tree Commission offers the residents of all of Warwick, Warwick, Florida, Greenwood Lake and New Milford the opportunity to express an unique opportunity. An opportunity to pay tribute to something that you feel is important. It can be anything:

· The passing of a loved one.

· The marking of a graduation

· The memory of a cherished pet.

It can be personal and private. It is your gesture - no one else’s. But it is a marker. A time stamp with the benefit of growing and branching out. A solid reminder of something that you can always return to. We currently offer:

Dawn Redwood

European Beech

Flowering Crabapple

Japanese Red Maple

Kanzan Cherry

Kousa Dogwood

Lacebark Elm

London Planetree

Norway Spruce

Red Maple

Red Oak

River Birch

Scarlet Oak

Washington Hawthorn

Some announcements:

Our Arbor Day celebration time has been moved to 9 a.m. from 11 a.m. on Friday, April 30. It will still be at Town Park at the Concession Stand. Hope to see you there.

Please don’t be upset with me for always giving recognition to Bill Roe and his crew for the continued work they do to keep our plantings healthy. All our work and efforts depend on their work.
