Track 7 campaigns for Food Pantry

WARWICK — Help stock the shelves.
Ken and Betsy Mitchell, owners of Track 7 Postal Center, are collecting pounds of food and raising dollars for the Warwick Ecumenical Council’s Food Pantry.
“I think it may be easier for some customers to bring cash although we also welcome packaged foods,” said Betsy Mitchell. “This year’s goal to celebrate our upcoming seventh anniversary is 7,000, and that number represents a combination of dollars and pounds of food. For example, we could have $5,000 in cash and 2,000 pounds of food or any combination that adds up to or hopefully exceeds 7000.”
Track 7, known for its expert packing, U.S. Postal services, mail box rentals, passport photos, copies and as an authorized shipping center for Federal Express and DHL, is located at 5 First St. in downtown Warwick.

Need increases
The Ecumenical Council’s Food Pantry is located at the United Methodist Church on 17A and Forester Avenue.
Because of the increase in economic hardship, the Food Pantry is having more difficulty in answering added demand throughout the year as well as Thanksgiving and Christmas.
This past year the Food Pantry has seen an unprecedented rise in clients. So far, Michele Carter and her team have been able to meet the challenge. But Fortunately, the Warwick community has always been generous in supporting the pantry.
Each year the Ecumenical Food Pantry sponsors a Thanksgiving and a Christmas food basket program for people in the Town of Warwick.
Individuals or organizations may support the program by adopting a family, providing a basket of food and gifts, collecting food and new toys or making a cash donation.
