The Wall That Heals’ exhibit is in Newburgh this weekend

NEWBURGH — "The Wall That Heals," an exhibit featuring a three-quarter scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., has come to Newburgh as part of a national tour at The People’s Park on Washington Street.
The replica is 375 feet in length and stands 7.5 feet high at its tallest point.
Visitors will experience "The Wall" rising above them as they walk toward the apex, a key feature of the design of "The Wall" in Washington, D.C., according to exhibit organizers.
The schedule• Today, Aug. 3, a candlelight vigil will be held at 7:30 p.m. The public is invited to attend and participate.
• On Saturday, Aug. 4 and Sunday, Aug. 5, photos of Vietnam will be on display at Regal Bag on Marine Drive.
• The Newburgh Symphony Orchestra will present a free "Patriotic Concert" at the site on Aug. 4 from 2 to 4 p.m. Guests should bring chairs and blankets.
• On Aug. 5, a closing ceremony will take place and will include the reading of the names from Orange, Dutchess and Morris (N.J.) counties from noon to 2 p.m.
The exhibit will close at 3 p.m.
