The summer mix

WARWICK - The picturesque grounds of Applewood Orchards and Winery, 82 Four Corners Road, will be the site of an after-hours "Summer Wine Mixer" next Wednesday, July 23, from 6 to 8 p.m.
For anyone new to the community, the entrance to Applewood is mid-way between Kings Highway and East Ridge/Ridge Roads.
This event, sponsored by the Warwick Valley Chamber of Commerce, will offer guests an opportunity to sample some of the great wines available in the tasting room, while also sampling complimentary hors d'oeuvres and enjoying live music by Steve Wells.
In addition to the beautiful gardens, Applewood, one of the oldest working farms in the Hudson Valley, offers visitors spectacular views of the surrounding area below.
"Pack plenty of business cards, wear comfortable shoes, and be prepared to meet, greet and socialize with business professionals in a casual summer setting," said Event Chair Janine Dethmers.
Applewood Winery is open through December, Friday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. with live music every weekend.
Following a Hudson Valley tradition of wine making since Revolutionary War times, Applewood has pioneered the planting of Vinifera grape varieties.
Their wines are made on premise from their own vineyards and orchards and from across the state. Naked Flock Hard Ciders, Draft, made with Belgian Ale yeasts and Citra Cider made with a Citra Hops will be available at the event.
Everyone is invited to join chamber members for this unique social event. Cost is $10 for members and $20 for non-members. For additional information or to make a reservation, call the Chamber at: 986-2720 or e-mail: info@warwickcc.org.
