The sixth annual OCNY Pride Parade is set for Sunday in Warwick

— In honor of Pride month, the Warwick Valley Community Center celebrates the LGBTQ community with a weekend-long series of event beginning Friday, June 8, and concluding Sunday, June 10, with the Pride Parade.
FridayThe program starts Friday, June 8, at 8 p.m., with a screening of the award-winning movie, “Call Me By Your Name.” This is an “R” rated romance set in Italy. Tickets are $5
SaturdayOn Saturday, June 9, the center hosts a six-band line-up for The Pride Show, including The Litterbugs, The Ryan Leddick Trio and Jaclyn Falk.
Doors open at 6 p.m. Tickets are $5. Suitable for teens and up.
SundayThe sixth annual OCNY Pride Event is on Sunday, June 10. This family-friendly event starts at 11:30 a.m. with a free rainbow bagel brunch, vendors and craft activities to get ready for the parade.
The parade launches at 1:30 p.m. from the community center, located at 11 Hamilton Ave. in the Village of Warwick. The route is Orchard Street to Railroad Green, Main Street and then returning to the center by 2:30 p.m. for music and magic performances, cupcakes and lemonade.
This year’s grand marshal is Rebekah Bruesehoff, an eleven-year old transgender girl who is determined to use her voice to teach others about life as a transgender young person and yo fight for the rights of her community.
The event, sponsored by the Warwick Valley Community Center and the Orange County Youth Bureau, is free and open to all.
