The Hoboken International Film festival brings celebs to GWL

GREENWOOD LAKE — The Hoboken International Film Festival opened May 18 with all of Hollywood’s glitz and glamour. The red carpet brought many nostalgic celebrities to the Thomas Morahan Park in Greenwood Lake on opening night to celebrate Louis Gosset Jr.
Notable celebrities such as Cobra Kai sensei himself Martin Kove as well as Growing Pain’s Julie McCullough rubbed shoulder to shoulder with the residents of Greenwood Lake to honor the films, TV pilots,and other mediums submitted as part of the Hoboken International Film Festival.
The star of the night Academy Award-winner Louis Gosset Jr., who had been a supporter of the film festival for many years. He received the festival’s lifetime achievement award.
Following a montage of his greatest works including playing Sgt. Emil Foley in "An Officer and a Gentleman," which earned him an Academy Award, as well as his role of Fiddler in "Roots," which eared him a Golden Globe, Gosset gave an acceptance speech to the crowd saying what Greenwood Lake meant to him.
He remarked on how so many great boxers had come to Greenwood Lake to train and that now he knows why, commenting on the lake's beautiful environment.
Gosset, 81, earlier in the night told reporters that he’s not done and still has many projects in line.
The Festival continued throughout the week and weekend showing films in various parts around the town all leading up to the closing ceremonies on May 24 where the top films will be awarded.
