The 'face of the Warwick School District' passes

WARWICK — Members of the Warwick Valley School District were saddened to learn of the passing Tuesday, Feb. 10, of the district’s longtime Board Clerk, Dorothy Wilson.
"Dorothy, known to all as Dot, was an integral part of the district for many years," district officials said in a statement issued Wednesday.
The statement continues:
"A lifelong Warwick resident, she graduated in the Warwick High School Class of 1938.
"After graduation, Dot began working in the Warwick School District. She spent a few years helping with the war effort during World War II, and returned in 1946 to begin a long career as the Warwick Board Clerk. She held this position through the tenure of several Superintendents, and to many district employees and community members, she was 'the face of the Warwick School District.'
66 years of service
"Dot formally retired in 2010 as Clerk of the School Board and the Secretary to the Superintendent, but continued to come in to work on special projects several afternoons a week for another year or so.
When the new wing adjacent to the Middle School was converted to the District Office in November 2000, the School Board honored Dot by formally naming the District Office the 'Dorothy C. Wilson Education Center.'
'She will be missed'
"During her long career in the Warwick School District, Dot was trustworthy and conscientious, paid great attention to detail and was completely loyal to the district. Her dedication to our district for an incredible 66 years is truly impressive.
"She will be missed."
