WARWICK — The Bungalow, a new shop located on the Carriage Path between Main Street and the South Street parking lot in the Village of Warwick, is described as a chic home and gift boutique inspired by bohemian and bungalow living.
On Thursday, July 6, Town of Warwick Supervisor Michael Sweeton, representatives from the office of Assemblyman Karl Brabenec and members of the Warwick Valley Chamber of Commerce joined owner Amy Fritzky, her mother and grandmother, to celebrate the store's grand opening.
"The Bungalow was born because of my love for all things pretty, earthy and bohemian," said Fritzky. "It was inspired by my grandparents who purchased a little bungalow in 1947 in Highland Lakes, New Jersey. That little bungalow became the cornerstone of my family and its roots."
She reported that after years of experience in the retail industry at her mother's store, Highland Flowers & Gifts in Vernon, N.J., it was time to start her own venture. Fritzky explained that every item in The Bungalow is hand-picked and many items are hand-made in the USA by local vendors.
"I aspire," she said, "for The Bungalow to be a place to not only find fun and unique goods for treating yourself and for gifting, but to offer the same sense of inspiration, adventure and spontaneity that my grandparents always possessed."
Fritzky said that this is the true motivation behind The Bungalow and that it is a true labor of love and a true family business.
"Almost every family member I have helped me get The Bungalow on its feet," she said. "The Bungalow family is so excited to be a part of the incredible Warwick community! We hope you enjoy our little bungalow."
