The beach is open

GREENWOOD LAKE — The unofficial start to summer happens this Memorial Day weekend with the opening of the beach at the Thomas P. Morahan Waterfront Park on Greenwood Lake.
Opening day is Saturday, May 26, starting at 11 a.m. The beach will open weekends only through June 24; beginning Monday, June 25, the beach is open daily through Sept. 3.
Residents and non-residents may use the beach. Here are the rates for passes for residents and non-residents:
• Family Season Pass $125; $250
• Senior Season Pass $25; $60
• Adult Season Pass $60; $125
• Child Season Pass $30; $70
• Daily Pass $8; $15
• Town Resident Guest Pass: $10
The beach is located at the end of Windemere Ave. Lifeguards supervise the swimming area from 11 a.m. until closing at 7 p.m. There is a picnic area, children’s playground and a volleyball court, along with rest rooms.
So pack a lunch and head to the town beach this summer.
