    — It was a festive morning, a tribute to all veterans and an intergenerational event.
On Thursday, Feb. 14, a group of veterans living at the Schervier Pavilion skilled nursing facility in Warwick were invited to join other veterans in the community for a “Valentine for Vets” breakfast at the Warwick Valley Middle School.
Students and teachers had arranged a program to recognize veterans that began with the Pledge of Allegiance and singing the National Anthem followed by guest speakers, musical performances and a huge breakfast.
At the conclusion of the program student hosts and hostesses presented each veteran with a special Valentine.
“We thank all the administrators, teachers and students at the Warwick Valley Middle School for inviting our veterans to this wonderful event,” said Schervier Pavilion Director of Recreation Kari Call. “And we are especially grateful to our resident veterans and all of our veterans for their service.”
