SUGAR LOAF — The Youth Group from the Sugar Loaf United Methodist Church participated in a world-wide event on Sunday, Feb. 10, known as the SouperBowl of Caring, which is dedicated to raising awareness about world hunger.
This is the seventh year that the church Youth Group has participated.
The young people made two kinds of homemade soup, which they sold and served to members of the Sugar Loaf UMC congregation.
Proceeds of $292, along with 75 canned items, will be donated to the Warwick Ecumenical Food Pantry.
The group members thanked Janet’s Quality Baked Goods, located at 29 Main St. in the Village of Florida, for donating the rolls served at the event.
