Students raise $600 to fight hunger

WARWICK Warwick Valley High School students brought awareness of world hunger to their school late last week with the Get Your 3 for 3 fund raiser.
The effort was organized by sophomore Kelsey Sellers, along with 13 other youth from Warwick United Methodist Church. The Get Your 3 for 3 encouraged people to make a difference as a school.
For $3, students and staff received an overcome hunger wristband and a chance to win one out of 18 gift certificates donated by local restaurants in Warwick.
For every dollar donated, one fingerprint was stamped to represent how many children were fed. This idea was inspired by World Visions 30 Hour Famine, in which the youth of this church participated in last weekend.
The fund raiser collected $600, feeding 600 children.
Congratulations to Warwick for once again making a difference.
