Student from Warwick wins Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Council poster contest

GOSHEN — Damien Jefferson, a ninth-grade student from Warwick who attends Orange-Ulster BOCES’ John A. Flannery High School, won the grand prize in the 25th annual Orange County Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Council (ADAC) poster contest.

Damien’s poster placed first out of more than 1,200 entries in this year’s contest.

ADAC’s theme for 2012 is Celebrate Life... Stay Alcohol and Drug Free. Damien’s poster depicts a young boy with head phones which expresses his feelings that music is how he celebrates life.

In creating the poster, Damien was very focused and passionate about his poster. His art teacher is Rhonda Hennrich.
