State certifed responsible alcohol server training available Feb. 25

WARWICK — The Warwick Valley Community Center and the Warwick Coalition for Prevention are sponsoring training for all merchants who serve alcohol on their premises on Tuesday, Feb. 25, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Doc Fry Building, 11 Hamilton Ave.
Responsible Server Training is a certified N.Y.S. Liquor Authority program that teaches how to sell and serve alcohol legally and safely. The aim is to reduce the numbers who obtain alcohol underage as well as those who leave premises intoxicated.
According to the coalition's press release announcing the program, the benefits to merchants include:
A well-trained staff lowers liability.
Favorable recognition in the community
Possible insurance, fine or penalty reduction.
The cost is $12 per site and includes copy of presentation, three certificates of completion, test/evaluation, current law book and information on drug/alcohol interactions.
