WARWICK — More than 68 golf and tennis players attended St. Anthony Community Hospital’s Annual Golf and Tennis Classic to “putt and play for a purpose.”
Through the Classic, which was sponsored by the Warwick Health Foundation, $49,500 was raised to support St. Anthony’s.
The event was held at the Warwick Valley Country Club on Sept. 19.
Proceeds from the classic will help ensure that St. Anthony Community Hospital’s patients will receive care in facilities that are continuously being enhanced, and that their health care providers will have ongoing access to state-of-the-art equipment and technology.
Winners of the golf scramble were Mike Garitta, Lydell Lettsome, Floyd Romyns and Harold Wood. They played on behalf of event sponsor, Warwick Anesthesia.
The winner of the tennis tournament was Deirdre Gaspari.
The classic offered something for everyone – golf, tennis, dining and joining together for local access to advanced health care.
Attendees played an 18-hole golf scramble or round-robin tennis. The day concluded with a cocktail and dinner reception.
“We deeply appreciate the generosity of our sponsors, advertisers and players," said Raul Berina, chairman of the Bon Secours Warwick Health Foundation. "Once again, the Classic was a terrific way for the community to support St. Anthony’s while enjoying a day on the golf course and tennis courts.”
