Spartans hone creativity in Odyssey of the Mind
Florida. District students of all ages participated in the creative problem-solving competition.
Odyssey of the Mind teams from across the district delivered standout performances at the regional competition at OU BOCES on Feb. 28, showcasing creativity, teamwork and problem-solving on the big stage.
The S.S. Seward Division III (high school) team, coached by Evan Lally, earned a second-place finish in Problem 2, “Lost in OMERLand,” securing a spot at the New York State competition on March 21. The S.S. Seward Division II (middle school) team, coached by Ethan Hamilton, placed fifth in Problem 5, “Taller Tales of John Jivery,” following a strong and imaginative presentation.
At Golden Hill, the Division I team competed in Problem 3, “The Epic Quest,” and earned a seventh-place finish, while the Primary team wowed judges and spectators alike with their creative solution to “Clowning Around with Science.”
